Telfar’s 20th anniversary runway show, staged on Juneteenth weekend in New York City, was more than a fashion show — it was a cultural milestone. After a three-year pause from the runway, the brand transformed Cortlandt Alley into a block-party-style celebration with live music, clotheslines hung with signature Half Tanks, and nearly 200 models representing every age, gender, and background. With casting that pulled directly from community members and appearances from friends and collaborators, the show highlighted what Telfar has always stood for: inclusivity, family, and the power of culture. The night captured two decades of history while reaffirming the brand’s future as a movement rooted in community.

I worked hands-on across multiple layers of the production, from start to finish. I supported over 10 fittings in the lead-up to the show, managing samples and ensuring each look was accounted for and runway-ready. On the day of, I was deeply involved backstage — coordinating with stylists, assisting models, and keeping track of the fast-moving logistics behind nearly 200 people hitting the runway. Between sample management, styling support, and model handling, my role was about making sure the flow stayed smooth and the show’s vision came together seamlessly. Being part of such a historic moment for the brand — and helping keep the chaos behind the scenes under control — was both intense and rewarding.
